US presidential elections of 2024

The US presidential elections of 2024 will – in all likelihood – be a rematch between the incumbent Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump. Trump promises a radical departure from the status quo and his election would have a significant impact on US democracy, US foreign and economic policy, transatlantic relations and the international order. The outcome of the congressional elections and the resulting composition of Congress also matter for the future course of US policy. What are possible developments that Germany and Europe need to prepare for?
