The SWP, along with other think tanks from the OSCE area, is participating as a core partner in a new expert network on the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) in Europe. The network aims to strengthen research on the OSCE, with a focus on analytically defining its potential role in a new European security order. On this basis, the network advises in particular the OSCE Troika, as well as other decision-makers. The OSCE Secretariat in Vienna accompanies the project in a coordinating role.
The aim of the project is to establish a broad and analytically sound understanding of the potential future role of the OSCE and to convey corresponding research results in the form of practical and concrete options for action - including suggestions for adjustments within the organization. In-depth consideration will also be given to the possible future positioning of the organization in the evolving European security architecture.
