OSCE Think Tank Network

The SWP, along with other think tanks from the OSCE area, is participating as a core partner in a new expert network on the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) in Europe. The network aims to strengthen research on the OSCE, with a focus on analytically defining its potential role in a new European security order. On this basis, the network advises in particular the OSCE Troika, as well as other decision-makers. The OSCE Secretariat in Vienna accompanies the project in a coordinating role.

The aim of the project is to establish a broad and analytically sound understanding of the potential future role of the OSCE and to convey corresponding research results in the form of practical and concrete options for action - including suggestions for adjustments within the organization. In-depth consideration will also be given to the possible future positioning of the organization in the evolving European security architecture. The project was conceptualized in relation to the thematic working group »Reordering European Security«,

Duration: October 2024 – December 2025

The project is funded by the Federal Foreign Office
