Polls and election results

It is difficult to predict the outcome of European elections. Although European electoral law regulates the basic requirements for European elections, Member States are relatively free to decide how to organise the elections. The European Parliament provides an overview of the different electoral systems for European elections here. However, this is not the only reason why European elections are seen as a series of 27 national elections; the election campaigns, which have so far focused mainly on national political issues, also illustrate this fact. However, there are now several institutions that convert national polls into seat projections for the EU Parliament:
